Friends, it’s almost done! We are so proud and simply delighted at how our new EP entitled, “The Things That Cannot Be Moved” is turning out! We are, as I type, making the finishing touches and working out all the details of the release. Check back soon for the final word…
Word!
Tonight I went to experience Wilco at the Paramount. Fantastic! Definitely one of the best shows I’ve seen and I would tell anyone to go catch them when they’re in your neck of the woods– if you can get tickets before they sell out on the same day they go on sale…
I also very enthusiastically recommend their 2007 release, Sky Blue Sky, their first studio album with guitar player Nels Cline… the guitar work is solid, creamy soft and gritty… you can almost taste it! Here he is with the double neck… oh man

Check these guys out! We are huge fans of what they are producing and we sport it proudly. They are also big behind the scenes working with their local communities and keeping creativity alive. Find them and follow them!

Well, we got the first mix for one of our songs that will be on our EP, titled “The Things That Cannot Be Moved,” and I have to say, it sounds great. It’s going to really be something special. I wish I could let you all hear it right now, but like a cruel trick, all I can do is dangle this tasty bit of info in front of you, and not actually let you have it. Soon though. We will be releasing a single from the EP to tide you all over until the record drops.
Enjoy Christmas and New Years everyone!

Who doesn’t love Rod Stewart, seriously? And Mel Gibson….? Hmmm, well anyways… tonight I had the mad excellent privilege to play a mini acoustic set at the Empyrean Coffee Pub in Spokane with a few good friends– Kelli Green and Nate Greenburg. Nate has some great great stuff, and you should check out his myspace–http://www.myspace.com/nategreenburgmusic. I’m going to call his songs “masterful cross-genre acoustic children of brain….” Another STELLAR band to check out that played tonight was Sleep Whale from Denton, TX. Very textural ambient soundscapes that take you on magnificent audio journeys to unknown, yet familiar places. Seriously– http://www.myspace.com/sleepwhale. Ok I am getting kicked out because they are closing!!! Listen to this stuff!

Howdy Do Friends! We had our show last night at Studio 7 and had a good time. Some good young bands played with us, and also made us feel old. It was good though. I actually enjoy getting older (even though 26 isn’t that old). We have been listening secretly to our board mixes of the new EP, and i have to say, i’m extremely proud of what we have accomplished on this recording. Captain Rad was exactly what we needed on this and he made us a better, smarter, more professional band. I hope that all of you will love this EP as much as I do. (can’t believe these are only board mixes!) Well, thanks to all of you who have continued to support us. You are seriously the reason we keep heading in a forward direction. Keep checking back for more info on the EP. I believe we will be revealing the title and track listing very very soon. below is a picture of us in the recording (bed)room. as you can see, brian was in REALLY deep thought. I’m sure it became something incredible that we recorded later.

Finished up day 6. Was very productive. Paper Astronomer is turning into zombies……must sleep before we start eating peoples BRAINS!!!!!!!!!
It’s time for round 2 of Paper Astronomer’s Top 5 Blog…Coming to you this week from our Guerilla recording studio in rainy Battle Ground WA…So without further ado
Top 5 Musical Guilty Pleasures (artists, albums, songs, music videos, etc.)
A guilty pleasure can be a tough thing to define…Especially since most of us will fiercely defend our favorite music. So, to avoid confusion I will provide you the Band approved definition through the following scenario: You hop into your car with a few friends and, upon starting, the stereo turns on and ____________comes blasting through the speakers…Are you a little bit embarrassed? Do you start thinking of logical scenarios / excuses for why it would have been the last thing you were listening to? If so, It’s guilty
So, as usual, here is my list to get you started
Now it’s your turn, So leave us your comments and start blogging!
